We provide an overview of fundamentals of hyperbolic geometry and its applications to topology of manifolds.

１．双曲幾何における面積や体積などの幾何量が計算できる．
２．双曲幾何における剛体性と柔軟性の境界が理解できる．
３．双曲幾何の擬（疎）化をトポロジーの問題に応用できる．

Objectives of the Course

1. Can compute geometric quantities such as area, volume in hyperbolic geometry.
2. Understand the border of rigidity and flexibility in hyperbolic geomety.
3. Can apply coarse hyperbolic geometry to problems in topology.

授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan

基礎的事項として
１．双曲幾何の基礎
２．双曲多様体と変形空間
３．グロモフ双曲空間
４．キューブ複体
を解説し，それらの多様体のトポロジーへの応用例を論じる．

We provide brief overview for
1. fundamentals of hyperbolic geometry
2. hyperbolic manifolds and their deformation spaces
3. Gromov hyperbolic spaces
4. cube complexes
and discuss their applications to topology of manifolds.

履修条件
Course Prerequisites

多様体論に関する講義を履修していることが望ましい．
