Goals of the Course(JPN)

Goals of the Course
Theme: Theory of Channel Coding
Channel coding is an application of probability to communication. In the theory of channel coding, we assume that data is sended through the nosiy channel. A basic scheme of channel coding is as follows:
- The encoder convert from the message to the sequence, and send it through the channel.
- The decoder received the sequence from the channel, and estimate the original message.
On some fundamental channels, we study that
- calculate the channel capacity (the maximum rate at which information can be transmitted through a channel),
- give rate-distortion function (trade-off function between rate and distortion),
- give optimal encoder/decoder, and etc.

Course Content / Plan
