授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan | | 現代生活の代表的な環境リスクとして指摘される食料・衛生・災害などに焦点を置き、1970年代以降に出版された内外の社会地理学ないし隣接学問分野のネオ古典（日本語または英語）を数冊程度取り上げて輪読し、その内容について理解するとともに、関連する諸問題について議論する。
議論のポイントとしては、①自然・気候変動・持続可能性、②公共空間・コミュニティ・ガバナンス、③地理的表象と想像力、④災害・脆弱性・リスク管理などである。以上を通して、現代社会の抱える課題を都市や農村のローカル文脈に即して理解し、それらに批判的社会科学の観点からアプローチすることの意味について考察を深める。 | This course provides an opportunity for students to discuss about concepts and methods of social
geography, geographies of society and space, and their related study areas through reading neo-classical books of social geography, sociology, and public policy published recently in Japanese or English, especially focusing on the contemporary environmental issues, (1) nature, climate change, sustainability, (2) public space, community, governance, (3) geographical representation and imagination, (4) disaster, vulnerability, risk management as discussion points from the perspective of critical social science. |
