Goals of the Course
【Aims】This seminar is aimed at enabling the students to deepen their understanding of the functions performed by international organizations such as the UN and the EU in order to acquire the trans-disciplinary perspectives necessary to address global environmental issues.

授業終了時に学生は、国連やEUなどの国際組織がグローバル・ガバナンスをより有効なものにするために、どのように国家などのアクターに対して社会的学習を促すのかを理解し、それにより環境ガバナンスに関して次世代の新しい学術領域を創造するために必要な組織論的な視野を身に付けることができる。

Objectives of the Course
【Learning Outcomes】At the end of the course, the students will be able to understand how international organizations facilitate social learning on the part of national governments and other actors, and thereby to acquire an organizational perspective needed to create a new academic field concerning global environmental governance.
授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan
この演習では、1)国際組織に関する基本文献の輪読、及び2)各自が設定した国際組織に関する研究テーマについて先行研究の紹介を行い、全員で議論する。また履修者は本セミナーで実施される研究倫理教育ガイダンスの受講を必須とする。
All participants are required to attend the Guidance session on research ethics conducted as part of this seminar.

The students enrolled in this seminar are required to: 1) read the basic literature concerning topics related to international organizations, and 2) to present literature reviews on the topics of their choice, which are related to international organizations.

本セミナーの受講生には、環境政治や環境法に関する他の講義(特に国際環境行政論)やセミナーも併せて受講することを強く奨励します。
It is highly recommended that the students also take other courses in environmental politics and law as well as the lecture on global environmental governance.
成績評価の方法と基準
Course Evaluation Method and Criteria
口頭発表に基づき、国際組織に関する基礎的な概念や理論を正しく理解しているかどうかを評価基準とする。
The students will be evaluated on the basis of their understanding of basic concepts and theories concerning international organizations, based on their oral presentations.

Textbook
教科書は指定しないが、文献リストを授業の最初の時間に配布する。
There is no assigned textbook. The list of assigned readings will be handed out at the first meeting of the class.

受講生は、各授業までに指定された文献を講読し、また特定のテーマに関するプレゼンテーションの準備をすることを求められる。
The students are required to do all the assigned readings before class and also to prepare for in-class presentations on certain topics.
