Goals of the Course(JPN) | | 【授業の目的】ジェントリフィケーションは今日の都市研究の国際的に共有された中心論点の1つである。この講義ではテキストの講読を通してジェントリフィケーションが発現するメカニズムや地域的な多様性について理解を深めることを目的とする。特に、アジアにおけるジェントリフィケーションの特徴の把握に重点を置いて検討を行う。

The aim of this class is to get theoretical understanding of "gentrification", in it's formation mechanism and regional diversity. We will focus on the characteristics of gentrification in Asian countries in particular.

授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan | | 授業はおそらくオンラインで実施する（対面の場合は全学Ｃ344教室を使用する）。
【授業の構成】基本的には講読形式の授業を行う。指定したテキストの中から論文を選び、受講生による報告と質疑を行う。必要に応じて概説的な講義を行う。
1. ジェントリフィケーションの定義とモデル
Neil Smith, Philip L. Clayなどによる問題提起
2. ジェントリフィケーションを生産する立場と消費する立場
資本主義経済との関係、美学的景観、新中間層に関する議論
3. ジェントリフィケーションと社会的排除
エスニシティ、ジェンダー、強制移転との関係に関する議論
4. アジアのジェントリフィケーション
台湾、中国、インド等における事例研究
【授業外学習の指示】指定する文献を授業前に読み、論点を整理しておくこと。 | Structure of the seminar: Reputable articles concerning gentrification are picked up. Participants are expected to give presentation and discuss about the articles.
1. Defining Gentrification
2. Production Side Explanation and Consumption Side Explanation of Gentrification
3. Gentrification and Displacement/Inequality
4. Gentrification in Asian Countries
Students are expected to read every article in advance. |

成績評価の方法と基準
Course Evaluation Method and Criteria | | ・報告、ディスカッションへの貢献、期末レポートによって評価する。
・期末レポートのテーマは、「アジアにおける地域研究の理論的課題」（仮）とする。
・ディスカッションへの「貢献」とは、テーマへの理解を深めるような問いや意見を発することを指す。
・報告25%、ディスカッションへの貢献25%、期末レポート50%で点数をつけ、100点満点で60点以上を合格とする。 | - Evaluation is based on presentation(25%), contribution to discussion(25%) and final report(50%). The score above or equal to 60 is required for credits.
- Theme of final report is "theoretical challenges of community and regional studies in Asian countries".
- Contribution to discussion means making useful remarks on the issues. |
