Goals of the Course [JPN] | | | 授業では，異文化間能力の定義，モデル，構成要素と関連する概念（文化，言語文化とアイデンティティ，言語・非言語的コミュニケーション，偏見，ステレオタイプ，一般化，自民族中心主義，文化相対主義）等の異文化間能力の基礎知識と関連する概念を学び，ディスカッションやプレゼンテーションを通じて理解を深めることで，自身の異文化間能力を伸ばすための素養を養い，国際社会に相応しい教養を育むことが目的です。 |

Goals of the Course [ENG] | | | This course aims to equip students with knowledge on how to develop their own intercultural competence by enhancing their understanding of the fundamental models and concepts(culture, cultre and identity, verbal/non-verbal communication, prejudice, stereotype, generalization ethno and cultural relativism, etc) of intercultural competence through discussion and presentations, in order to prepare themselves for international society. |

・ コースを通してこれまでとは異なる視点から自分自身をふり返り、また、「文化」というものを再考することができる。 |

Objectives of the Course [ENG] | | ・ Students will learn basic knoweldge of Intercultural Competence (definitions, models, componets, and related concepts, etc).
・ Students will be able to use the knowldge earned in class to develop their own Intercultural Competence.
・ Students will abe to apply the knoweldge earned to reflect on themselves and 'culture' from a different perspective. |

Textbook | | Materials will be provided through the TACT（旧NUCT） system before each class. No text book will be used.

Study Load (Self-directed Learning Outside Course Hours) | | ・Students are required to read the materials before class and should be prepared to give their opinions in class.
事前に資料を読み、自らの考えを発言できるよう準備すること。

Notice for Students | | ・Maximum number of students: 20. Students interested must attend the first class.
受講人数制限：20名まで。受講を希望する学生は、初回の授業に参加すること
・Office hours: Students can visit the instructor's office anytime between 10:30 to 17:00. Due to periodical meetings, it would be appeciated if students could mail the instructor in advance.
オフィスアワー：10時30分から17時の間であれば、自由に研究室を訪ねて差し支えありません。ただし、会議などで不在の時もあるので、事前にメールでの連絡をいただけると助かります。 |
