メディア芸術について論じます。メディア芸術とは，コンピュータ以降の新しいテクノロジーを用いて制作されただけでなく，サイエンスや新しいテクノロジーについての省察をその内容に含むような芸術のことです。コンピュータ・アート，バイオアート，さらにはある種のデザインやポップカルチャーなども，ここに含まれます。受講生は，新しい作品の理解を通して，現代の社会とそれを支えるテクノロジー，またテクノロジーと自然との関係などについて考察します。芸術論Aと補完的です。

Goals of the Course [ENG]
In Art Theory B we mainly discuss media arts. Media arts are arts that are not only created using new technologies since the computer, but also include reflections on science and new technologies. This includes computer art, bio-media art, and even some kinds of design and pop culture. Through the understanding of new works, students are requested to reconsider the contemporary societies and the technology that supports them, and the relationship between technology and nature. Art Theory B is complementary to Art Theory A.

この講義では、20世紀末から今日に至るメディア芸術を通して、そこに表現された生命観やテクノロジーの変化、さらにはそれが「場所づくり」とどのような関係を取り結んできたのかを学んでいく。受講生は、芸術や芸術作品に関する知識を身につけるとともに、芸術を通した「場所づくり」についての知識も身につけることができる。

Objectives of the Course [ENG]
In this lecture, through the study of media arts from the end of the 20th century to the present day, students will learn about the changes in the view of life and technology expressed there, and what kind of relationship media arts have had with "community creation". In addition to acquiring knowledge about art and artworks, students will also be able to acquire knowledge about "community creation" through art.

課外学修等
Study Load (Self-directed Learning Outside Course Hours)
毎回授業の終わりに、次回授業内容の予告を行うので、受講生は、それについて各自事前に学習し整理しておくこと。
授業後は、自身が整理して臨んだ内容の確認ならびに授業で得られた新たな知見を復習しておくこと。また、毎回、授業内容の理解を確認するための小テストをTACT（旧NUCT）から期限内に実施すること。また、授業期間内に1件の展覧会見学レポートを課す。

芸術は好き嫌いで判断すればよいという考えの方は、受講する必要がありません。
単位は教員との交渉で取得するものではありません。
