Goals of the Course [JPN] | | | 地球上では多様な環境の中に生物が満ちあふれ，人類もそこに共存しています。また，農業生産物をはじめ，人類が食物として摂取するものもそのほとんどが生物に由来するものです。微生物から動物や植物まで，そして細胞の中の分子レベルの事象から森林や海洋など地球環境レベルの事象まで，生命科学が題材にする分野は大きく広がっています。さらに，再生医療，ゲノム編集，機能性食品，環境浄化，バイオエネルギーなど生命科学は身近で重要な問題の基盤でもあります。この講義では，現代の生命科学を理解するための基礎的な知識を学び，さらに大学や企業で今どのような研究が行われているのかについて理解を深めます。 |

授業の目的 【英語】
Goals of the Course [ENG] | | | The earth is full of living organisms in a variety of environments, and humans coexist there. In addition, most of the foods we consume, including agricultural products, are derived from the living organisms. From microorganisms to animals and plants, and from molecular-level events in cells to global environmental events in forests and oceans, the field of life science has expanded greatly. Furthermore, life science is the basis for many important issues in our daily lives, such as regenerative medicine, genome editing, functional foods, environmental purification, and bioenergy. In this lecture, students will learn the basic knowledge of modern life science, and deepen their understaending of what kind of research is currently being conducted at universities and companies. |
