(1) Introduction: What is International Politics (ch. 1)/Presentation Assignments (2) The Peleponnesian War/Ethical Questions and International Politics (ch .1) (3) Key Concepts/Levels of Analysis (ch. 2) (4) Paradigms and Theories (ch. 2) (5) Modern History of International Politics (1): From the 17th Century to the 19th Century (ch .3) (6) Modern History of International Politics (2): The Origins of the First World War (ch. 3) (7) Modern History of International Politics (3): The Interwar Years to the Second World War (ch. 4) (8) Modern History of International Politics (4): The Cold War (ch. 5) (9) Conflict and Cooperation in the Post-Cold War World (ch. 6) (10) Current Flashpoints (1): Eastern Europe & the Near East (ch. 7) (11) Current Flashpoints (2): South Asia & East Asia (ch. 7) (12) Globalization and Interdependence (ch. 8) (13) The Information Revolution and Transnational Actors (ch. 9) (14) What Can We Expect in the Future? Each class will begin with a lecture by the course tutor, followed by a student presentation, then a class discussion. Participants are required to complete the weekly required reading, participate in class discussions and give a presentation. You may choose a presentation topic from the "Study Questions" section at the end of each chapter of the textbook, or think of an original discussion topic related to the assigned chapter. |

成績評価の方法と基準 Course Evaluation Method and Criteria | | Evaluation will be based on the following criteria. 1. Contribution to class discussions: 30% 2. Quality of presentation: 30% 3. Quality of end-of-term essay: 40% The above criteria will be added up to compile your final mark. Benchmark for a passing grade: refer to the student handbook (C grade is above 60%). |

授業開講形態等 Lecture format, etc. | | 原則として対面で行う。例外的に、遠隔授業(同時双方向)を行う。 遠隔授業は Teams、Zoom等で⾏う。 ※履修登録後に授業形態等に変更がある場合には、TACTの授業サイトで案内します。 In principle, lecture and seminar course subjects are offered in-person. Online participation in classes (interactive communication classes via Teams, Zoom, etc.) may be permitted by the instructor under exceptional circumstances. *Guidance will be posted on TACT if there are any changes in the class format, etc. after registration. |

遠隔授業(オンデマンド型)で行う場合の追加措置 Additional measures for remote class (on-demand class) | | 遠隔授業はTACTで行う。教員への質問方法、学生同士の意見交換の方法は次のとおりとする。なお、教員より別の指示がある場合は、その指示に従うこと。 ・教員への質問は、TACT機能「メッセージ」により行うこと。 ・授業に関する受講学生間の意見交換は、TACT機能「メッセージ」により行うこと。 (※担当教員が「フォーラム」機能を追加設定した場合は「フォーラム」も利用可。) Remote classes are conducted via TACT. Questions to instructors should be asked using the TACT "Message" function. Student discussions will be conducted using the TACT "Message" function. (If the instructor has added the "Forum" function, the "Forum" can also be used.) Follow your instructor's directions if your instructor has any other directions. |
