授業の目的 【英語】 Goals of the Course | | This course offers an introductory to research and study skills. It is broken up into two parts. The first part is taught by Professor Kuhn. In this portion of the course, students will learn the basics of research, including finding sources, evaluating them, and starting your own research. First, students will learn about the central library on Nagoya University campus. Then, using online resources and databases, students will find research related to a topic of their choice. Students will learn to evaluate this research, including its originality, relation to the rest of the field, and ethics. In the second part of the course, Professor McGinty will introduce students to specific skills that are necessary for doing research in the legal field. |

到達目標 【英語】 Objectives of the Course | | By the end of the course, students will be able to find and evaluate scholarly sources. They will also have developed skills in legal research. Specific skills will include using databases to find and locate relevant laws, judicial decisions and academic articles; setting relevant legal research questions for use in undergraduate essays on law, and using appropriate methodologies to answer those questions. |
