授業の目的 【日本語】
Goals of the Course(JPN)
本授業の目的は、文化と心理学に関連する概念と理論を理解することである。本授業は、学部学生を対象として、社会心理学と文化心理学の基本概念と理論を取り扱い、学習した心理学的な視点を日常生活に応用する訓練を行う。授業の前半は、自己、認知、感情などの基礎的な概念を学び、後半ではその概念を用いて実際の社会問題を分析する練習を行う。本授業は、文化と心理学に関連する概念と理論の理解を目的としており、英語の学習を目的とした授業ではないため、受講者は、英語で授業を理解し、グループワークでインタビューやディスカッションを行い、レポートを書く力を有していることが大前提である。

Goals of the Course
This course aims to understand the idea and theory of culture and psychology for undergraduate students. This course handles the basic concept and theories of social psychology and cross-cultural psychology. Students deeply learn this psychological perspective applicable to daily life in Japan. In the first part, students acquire psychological perspectives related to culture such as dimensions, self, cognition, emotion. In the second part, students will be able to apply these perspectives to real social phenomena.

授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan
The course consists of lectures, group discussions, and presentations. This course expects students to learn the basic ideas and theories of culture and psychology during lectures. This course expects students to apply these ideas and theories in real social contexts and issues during group discussions. Active participation with other students in the live sessions is crucial. Presentations in live sessions enable students to work in the intercultural context, and papers allow them to have academic writing ability. Additionally, this course provides additional materials to acquire those independent academic skills. Therefore, this course is suitable for undergraduate students who want to study in intercultural contexts and study abroad soon.

Active participation 10%
1st Group discussion, presentations, and paper (500 words) 20%
2nd Group discussion, presentations, and paper (1,000 words) 30%
3rd Group discussion, presentations, and paper (1,500 to 2,000 words) 40%
The passing score for this course is more than 60%.

・Group discussion: students do group discussions on a subject related to the topic of intercultural communication
・Presentation: students prepare presentations for live sessions
