Goals of the Course
Kinematics of machines is the study of how machines work, and deals with the relationship between the structure and motion of the mechanisms that make up machines, as well as the laws that determine their motion.

The goal of this class is to provide students with a foundation for studying automotive engineering.
For this purpose, the course focuses on the main mechanisms used in parts in automobiles, link mechanisms, friction mechanisms, belt mechanisms, and gear mechanisms, from their basic operation to their applied operation on products.

Objectives of the Course
By the end of the course, students should be able to

1. understand the principles of motion transformation in typical mechanisms such as link, friction, belt, and gear mechanisms.
2. calculate the degrees of freedom and analyze the motion of the above typical mechanisms.
3. explain theoretically the operation of major mechanisms in automobiles, such as transmission (AT, MT, and CVT), differential, belt drive unit, etc.
