Goals of the Course
The purpose of this course is to understand the fundamentals of numerical analysis (numerical simulation with time advancement) through multibody dynamics simulation, and heat transfer simulation and/or computational fluid dynamics. Students will aquire basic programming skills of Matlab/Octave.

Objectives of the Course
Successfully program and execute the numerical code to solove ordinally differential equations and partial differential equations, and solve/reveal the given questions/tasks. It is also expected that students understand the characteristics, advantages, and disadvantages such as accuracy, error, stability, and cost of different types of numerical algorythm, schemes, methods etc.

Course Content
After the lecture by the lecturer, students are required to program computational codes to solve the given problem using specific schemes/algorithms. Howework is given every week.

First part: MCK equation for 1 DOE (degree of freedom) and 2 DOE systems.
Second part: Diffusion equation and diffusion-convection equation for heat with/without fluid motion.

Presentation by students in the class at the end of both the first and second parts. Each student work on each unique task.

Grades will be based on homework and presentations. No report submission or no show of the presentation is counted as absence.

The full mark is 100 points, and the passing mark is 60 points.
