Goals of the Course | | | The aim of this course is for students to learn the methodologies of academic research, develop the writing skills necessary to communicate their own research ideas, and improve the critical thinking skills necessary to evaluate research. |

Objectives of the Course(JPN) | | | At the end of the course, students will be able to clearly explain the structure and design of academic research. Students will also be able to design a simple research plan and communicate that plan orally and in writing. |

授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan | | | This is a practical course for students in the initial stages of their Master’s level research. In this course, students will consider issues related to their research, including the formulation of research questions, research design, data collection, and analysis. Students will also be provided with opportunities to improve their academic writing skills by writing about the issues above. Furthermore, students will discuss their research projects in class and workshop writing assignments with classmates. |

A minimum grade of C in every category is necessary to receive a passing grade. |
