授業の目的 【英語】 Goals of the Course | | This course examines the seminal issues in the philosophy of mind and the philosophy of language. In particular, we will consider the mind-body problems, consciousness, intentionality, concept, meaning, truth, and the distinction between syntax and semantics. |

Week 1 Introduction to the philosophy of language Week 2-4 Meaning, reference, and truth Week 5 Language and Behavior Week 6 The Mind-body problem and Dualism Week 7-9 What is Consciousness? (Behaviorism and Functionalism) Week 10-11 Thought experiments on consciousness (Philosophical zombie, Mary's room) Week 12-14 Mind, machine, and virtual reality Week 15 Intentionality
