This course will introduce the science and technology of advanced inorganic chemistry including synthesis, structure, chemical bonding, physical properties characterization, and applications of various inorganic materials, with an emphasis on recent technological breakthroughs in nanomaterials.

The goal of this course is to understand the basic concepts and principles of advanced inorganic chemistry by exploring synthesis, characterization, and functionalities of advanced inorganic materials.

This course will cover the following topics:
1. Basic principles of inorganic nanomaterials
2. Low dimensional nanomaterials: Synthesis, structures and properties
3. Graphene and two-dimensional materials
4. Nanoporous metal complexes and related materials: Synthesis, structures and properties
5. Porous materials: Synthesis, structures and properties
6. Energy applications of inorganic materials: Lithium ion batteries and fuel cells
7. Bioceramics: Ceramics in medicine, biology and biomimetics

The reports will be evaluated on a scale of 100 points, and the pass will be 60 points or more.
