Goals of the Course(JPN)
本科目では、脊椎動物の発生制御機構、エピジェネティクスおよびエピゲノムについて、その分子基盤の理解を深めるとともに、疾患を含めた様々な現象の遺伝的制御機構について学ぶ。受講者は科学論文の内容をプレゼンテーションすることで、研究プレゼンテーションの技法についても学ぶ。

Goals of the Course
This course deals with the molecular mechanisms of vertebrate development, epigenetic gene regulation, and epigenomics. The participants will acquire the methods of scientific presentation and discussion, as all will present keystone and/or cutting edge papers in the field.

Objectives of the Course
The aim of the course is to acquire an intellect from the perspective of genomics, epigenomics, development, and related areas, through discussing about cutting-edge researches with other participants.
授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan
Lectures:
Genetic regulation of ontogenesis.
Epigenetic regulation of gene expression.

Presentations:
All participants select a paper in the list provided, all of which are related to genomics, epigenomics, and development, for their presentation in the class.
履修条件・関連する科目
Course Prerequisites and Related Courses
Participants are assumed to have basic knowledge of developmental biology and molecular genetics at the level of undergraduate classes. Ones who do not have are strongly suggested to read textbooks, such as "Molecular Biology of the Cell" by Alberts et al. and "Genetics" by Hartwell.

Participants are evaluated based on their presentation and discussion.

Participants should attend the class in the first week, as papers for presentation are assigned there.
Presentations will start from the 4th week. The 2nd and 3rth weeks are for lecture.
