成績評価の方法と基準
Course Evaluation Method and Criteria
This is a pass or fail course (see Academics/Campus Life in the Nagoya University student webpage). While there are no specific assignments (unlike the lectures), students are expected to participate in a respectful manner towards their fellow classmates by, for instance, reading and giving comments on a fellow student’s draft dissertation or listening and asking questions when a fellow student gives a presentation. Masters and PhD students are expected to be encouraging and friendly towards one another. The instructor will give appropriate feedback on the draft document or presentation, but this will not be reflected in the seminar final mark.
教科書・参考書
Textbook/Reference Book
There are no textbooks for this course but necessary readings or preparation materials (such as works-in-progress or draft chapters) will be distributed by the student or instructor at least a week in advance of the seminar.
課外学習等(授業時間外学習の指示)
Study Load(Self-directed Learning Outside Course Hours)
If students would like comments on a paper from the instructor and other seminar participants, they should send the work at least a week in advance. Alternatively, if the student is preparing for a particular deadline (grant or job application, or peer review submission), they should send any works-in-progress well in advance and notify the instructor and participants about the kinds of comments that would be most helpful. Students may also request an interdisciplinary thematic reading group, ie: developing country debt, etc.
注意事項
Notice for Students
Upon student request, planned themes and activities in each week’s lecture may change. There may also be shared sessions or exchanges with seminar groups of other GSID professors.
