Goals of the Course
This course introduces the experience of Japan's development and its modernization process from various perspectives, including both positive and negative aspects of the process. This is an omnibus lecture provided by a series of lecturers from both inside and outside GSID. Lecturers from different disciplines discuss issues related to the process using the fields of economy, law, government, agricultural/rural development, education, social development, and peace-building. Students will understand the crucial issues pertaining to Japan's development experience and consider the applicability of this experience to other countries.
