授業の目的　【日本語】
Goals of the Course(JPN)
本特論は、国際開発海外実地研修実習（OFW）に参加する学生を対象とし、調査対象国の基本情報、調査法、データ分析法などの知識・技術を提供するものである。学生は本特論を履修することにより、調査地の現状や自身の調査題目に関連する議論を理解し、現地調査の準備ができるようになることを目指す。2023年度はフィリピンで調査を実施する。

Goals of the Course
This course aims to provide the students who join GSID Overseas Fieldwork (OFW) with basic information about the country of study, fieldwork methods, and data analysis methods. Students will be able to understand the field site situation and current discussion related to their research topics to get ready for the fieldwork. In 2023, students will conduct fieldwork in the Philippines.

Learn about development issues in the Philippines.

Acquire skills needed to plan fieldwork.

Acquire skills to conduct interviews with various stakeholders.
授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan
Five classes aim to provide the background of the country of study and related topics in the field. Four classes aim to provide knowledge about research methods. In addition to the lectures, students are required to do two group presentations during the course.

1. Introduction to OFW 2022
2. Overview of the Philippines and the research site
3. Philippines 1: education issues
4. Philippines 2: economic issues
5. Philippines 3: political issues
6. Philippines 4: migration issues
7. Group presentation to share research interests
8. Research methods 1 [joint class with DFW]
9. Research methods 2 [joint class with DFW]
10. Research methods 3 [joint class with DFW]
11. Research methods 4 [joint class with DFW]
12. Groupwork on the research proposal
13. Group presentation on the research proposal
14. Risk management

Notice for Students
Those who are willing to take this course should attend the guidance at the beginning of April 2022.
All the students who join OFW are required to take this course for credits.
The fieldwork in the Philippines will take place in September 2023.
Classes will be given by resource persons both within and outside GSID.
Willingness and ability to work in a research team setting is a necessity.
