授業の内容や構成 Course Content / Plan | | Each week, the class will discuss a different foundational work in modern Japanese history as a group. Each student is expected to complete the readings before coming to class, and to be ready to answer basic questions and discuss the text. To facilitate discussion, studens should prepare "rejime" of the readings, outlining the main arguments and main organization of the text. On assigned days, students will work in pairs to lead the class discussion, introducing the main points of the text, and preparing discussion questions for the rest of the class to discuss. By the end of the term, students will prepare a 10-15 page historiography paper based on themes and texts of their own choosing. |
