Goals of the Course(JPN) | | グローバル社会におけるメディア・コミュニケーション研究者として必要な考え方や技能を身に着ける。
これは，研究論文執筆に必要な理論や方法論の学習にとどまらず，将来のキャリアや研究の発展性を見越した課題・方法の設定力，研究をいかに実施するかの計画力，情報収集力，研究成果の発信力等の向上が含まれる。
本セミナーでは特に，適切な論文執筆手法の修得を目標とする。 |

Goals of the Course | | Students will develop their ways of thinking and acquire skills which are essential for researchers in media communication in global society.
This includes not only learning theories and methods necessary for writing academic papers, but also improving students' ability to set research questions, to select methodologies appropriate to students' careers and research potential, to plan how to conduct their research, to gather information, and to disseminate their research outcomes. In this seminar, the instructor will especially focus on improving students’ writing techniques. |

授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan | | 〔計画〕
1. 研究テーマの先行研究のほか，関連するテーマについての文献を，学際的に，さらには古典から最新のものまで幅広く包括的に読む。
それをまとめて報告・討論することで，高度な専門知識を養うとともに，研究テーマに関する先行研究をレビューする助けとするほか，
独自の研究計画を立案する契機とする。
2. 研究テーマに関する報告・討論を行う。
バックグラウンドから先行研究のレビュー，研究課題，方法，分析に至る研究の質や一貫性につき確認し，討論を行う。
とりわけ，国内学会誌への投稿を意識した論文執筆手法を指導する。
3. その際，単なる研究の進捗報告や文献紹介にとどまらない，学会・研究会発表を視野に入れた，効果的で説得力のあるプレゼンテーション
技術の向上を目指した演習を行う。 | Students will read, present and discuss a wide range of research works which are related to their research topics. In addition, participants will (1) monitor the progress of their research, and (2) build and implement their research plans with a long-term perspective as researchers.
1. Students will interdisciplinarily read a broad range of previous studies and related literature on their research topics from the classical texts to the latest ones. By summarizing, reporting and discussing them, students will improve their specialized knowledge, review previous research about their research topics and make their own research plans.
2. Students will check their own research’s quality and the consistency of their introductions, literature review, research questions, methodology and analysis. In particular, academic writing skills will be taught with the goal of submitting articles to domestic journals.
3. At the same time, students will not only report their research progress and introduce representative works, but will also develop their skills for making effective and persuasive presentations to successfully report their research outcomes in academic conferences and study groups. |
