Goals of the Course [ENG] | | | 【Standardized across all programs】 It has been pointed out that the risk of natural disasters increases due to various factors and may affect the sustainability of society. It is required to objectively analyze hazard predictions that take into account changes in the global environment, vulnerabilities in modern society, conditions that induce disasters, and flexible response capabilities (resilience) in the event of a disaster. In addition, the point of disaster prevention and mitigation in the future is to mobilize and collaborate with the wisdom of various specialized fields. This lecture will give you an opportunity to think about "what to do" and "what to learn" in your future course. |

Objectives of the Course [ENG] | | (1) Content Knowledge: students will acquire a basic understanding of disaster risk reduction (DRR) and related social and technical innovations focusing on the experience of Japan.
(2) Transferable Skills: student will develop creative thinking and problem-solving skills useful both within and outside the DRR context through DRR related exercises and projects. |
