Goals of the Course [ENG]
【Standardized across all programs】 The primary goal of this course is to equip students with the necessary skills to complete their undergraduate education and prepare for more advanced levels of writing. The class introduces students to the craft of academic writing. Students will learn about choosing appropriate research topics, developing their arguments, using sources, structuring essays and paragraphs within them, engaging in proper citation and capturing reader interest among others. These can be applied both to writing essays for classes and for use in an undergraduate thesis.

Objectives of the Course [ENG]
This course will introduce academic literacy skills necessary for undergraduate level classes. The course lays the foundation of academic writing in three principal stages: research, writing, and revision. Students will find and evaluate relevant academic literature, write a well-defined research question, tentative conclusions, full list of references, and bibliography.

In G30 Academic Writing, you will:
- Identify and evaluate academic literature
- Find resources on the Nagoya University campus and online
- Formulate your research topic into a viable research question
