The purpose of this course is to understand the basic notions and issues in English morphology.

英語の語形成の基本概念を理解し、語の分析法を習得する。
授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan
英語形態論の入門的な教科書を毎週約10ページずつ読み解いていく。（We will read an introductory textbook on English morphology.）

章構成は以下の通り。3章と7章は省略の予定。（TOC: We are going to skip Chapters 3 and 7.）
1. Basic concepts
2. Studying complex words
3. Productivity and the mental lexicon
4. Affixation
5. Derivation without affixation
6. Compounding
7. Theoretical issues: Modeling word-formation

英語読解能力を前提とする。インタラクティブな講義形式のため、受講生は毎回一度は発言（教員の質問に回答）することとなる。また、授業内でクラスメイトと相談する機会が多いので、それに積極的に参加できることが必要。
成績評価の方法と基準
Course Evaluation Method and Criteria
宿題への解答、授業への貢献、小テスト（30%）、期末試験（70%）。60点以上を合格とする。
