授業の目的 【英語】 Goals of the Course | | This course has two aims. The first is to provide students with the technical skills needed to read and analyze 16th and 17th-century poetry in English, including but not limited to the often quite difficult verse of William Shakespeare. The second is to introduce students to the basics of English literary history c.1520-c1640, in relation to broader cultural, political, religious, and scientific contexts. |

到達目標 【日本語】 Objectives of the Course(JPN) | | この授業での学びを通して、①初期近代英語の詩を読むことができるようになる、②イングランド文学の重要な形成期の歴史と、ウィリアム・シェイクスピアについて、より深く理解できるようになる、③テクストを緻密に読む力が身につき、アカデミックな問いについて、自分の考えを書いたり口頭で説明したりする機会が得られため、アウトプットの力を磨くことができる。At the end of the course students will be able to read Early-Modern English verse/poetry with greater ease and fluency. Students will also be better acquainted with the history of the crucial formative period of English literature, and with its most influential figure, William Shakespeare. Students will develop close-reading skills and gain practice in explaining their ideas on academic matters in both written and spoken English. |
