Goals of the Course
This course is an introduction to the Social Sciences, with a focus on Law in a global world. Through a series of lectures, discussions, student presentations and readings, students will learn some of the basic concepts of law and legal theory in order to acquire the skills and ways of thinking required to understand the rationale behind laws and policies.

At the end of the course, students will be able to explain how systems of domestic and international law interact to deal with complex transnational problems such as protecting cultural property or dealing with public health crises (among other topics).
