Goals of the Course
This course aims that students will learn two functional areas of business - marketing and finance. Major topics covered in this course include the following: market segmantation; relationship marketing; consumer behavior; brand management; pricing and promotions; accounting and financial information; financial statements; financial planning; short- and long-term financing; and banking systems.

After completing this course, the student will be able to:
1. Understand how marketers identify their audience and figure out how to reach them.
2. Understand how successful marketing makes a connection with customers.
3. Demonst an understanding of the accounting fundamentals and financial information critical to business success.

Course Evaluation Method and Criteria
[Course evaluation]
1. Exams & Quizzes - 50%
There will be three exams. In addition, there will be quizzes after each chapter. Late submission of quizzes will be accepted with a penalty of a 10% deduction per day (24-hour period). The quizzes count as one exam grade. The exams and quizzes are weighted equally (i.e., 12.5% each).
2. Assignments - 40%
There will be about six homework assignments. Each assignment has a due date. Late submission will be accepted with a penalty of a 10% deduction per day (24-hour period).
3. Participation - 10%
Actively participating in various class activities is very important in this course. The class activities include discussions, in-class exercises, online quizzes, and discussion boards.

To pass this course, you must receive a C- or higher grade. The grading schema is the following:
