Goals of the Course
The objective of this course is to help students explore their interests in economics and business. The seminar intends to develop analytical thinking of the students through the in-class discussions and presentations on various economic issues. Students will encounter wide spectrum of economic issues, understand the basic concepts of statistics, and learn how to plot academic research.

With this course, students will be able to:
1. Understand the different types of economics or business research.
2. Deliver their own interests on economic/business issues.
3. Engage activity in the discussion of each presentation.
4. Analyze the current issue on economic and business agenda.

成績評価の方法と基準
Course Evaluation Method and Criteria
1. Presentations (50%): Students will present four presentations. The frequency may change depending on the number of students. They will present on topics provided by the instructor on different topics. They will choose one of the article and conduct presentation based on the paper. Students are encouraged to conduct team presentation. Team presentation may be necessary depending on the size of the class.
2. Discussant (20%): One student (or a group of students in case of team presentation) will be assigned as a discussant to each presentation to lead a discussion.
3. Class Participation and attendance (30%): If a student needs to be excused from the class, he/she must notify the instructor in person or by email before the class. Proof, such as a doctor’s note may be required.
