Goals of the Course
Quantitative Analysis II is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to reach a new level of understanding and analysis of social science data. The course is a continuation of Quantitative Analysis I, and will therefore focus on the application of the previous material. This course will emphasize the application and analysis of computer based statistical techniques in particular, with an emphasis on social science variables.

Class 2 - One tailed tests, T-distribution
Class 3 - Independent random samples, T-Test, ANOVA
Class 4 - Lab 1 – T-test, ANOVA
Class 5 - Crosstabs, Chi-square, Measures of Association
Class 6 - Lab 2 – Crosstabs & Chi-Square
Class 7 - Midterm exam
Class 8 - Correlation
Class 9 - Lab 3 – Correlation
Class 10 - Regression
Class 11 - Lab 4 – Regression
Class 12 - Regression continued, dummy variables
Class 13 - Lab 5 – Dummy variables
Class 14 - Course review, review for exam
Class 15 - Final exam

Course Prerequisites and Related Courses
Students enrolled in Quantitative Techniques II should have already completed the Quantitative Techniques I class with a satisfactory grade. A good command of the English language (reading, speaking, and writing) is required. A mathematical background is not expected, but students should know basic algebra at a minimum.
