Goals of the Course
This course deals with basic measurement systems found in automobiles and other devices. The purpose of the course is to develop an understanding of basic concepts and principle of sensors and signal processing.
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to (1)understand the relationship between sensing principles and device configuration, (2)select the appropriate sensor devices, (3)design signal processing required for measurement.

1. Sensor systems found in automobiles and other devices
2. Electromagnetic waves and aerial sound waves
3. Waveform spectrum and convolution
4. Transmission line and characteristic impedance
5. Electric and ultrasonic measurements involving transmission lines
6. Building sensor system using a ultrasonic sensor
7. Measurement of the distance to a vehicle
8. Building area sensor and your own sensor system

Criteria for "Fail (F)" & "Absent (W)" grades
The criterion is whether or not notification of course withdrawal has been made before the deadline for submitting the midterm report.
