Goals of the Course
In this course, students will learn the fundamentals of stress, strain, and how materials deform. Students will also solve problems related to the course topics under the guidance of the faculty. By the end of the course, students will:
1. Understand the concepts of stress and strain.
2. Have the ability to analyze stress in rods and beams that undergo tension, compression, bending, and torsion.
3. Have the ability to analyze combined stresses in rods and beams.
4. Have the ability to determine the strain energy in rods and beams.
