Goals of the Course
The purpose of this class is to deepen students' understanding of psycholinguistic research on "bilingual word recognition."
Objectives of the Course(JPN)

Students will study, in the course of reading words, how various types of lexical information contribute to the visual word processing and whether monolinguals and bilinguals read differently. By finding, reading, and summarizing primary sources, students can develop their reading skills and organizational skills. Furthermore, through in-class discussions with peers, students will be able to master how to deliver their ideas clearly and how to turn a question into an original study.
Course Content / Plan
Every week, a discussion leader is asked to present an assigned academic article (or an academic article of their choice) and lead an in-class discussion. The language of instruction and discussion is English.

Week 1: Introduction to psycholinguistics
Week 2 - 8: Discussions on visual word recognition
Week 9 - 15: Discussions on bilingual visual word recognition
