授業の目的 【日本語】
Goals of the Course(JPN) | | 本学期のメディア社会と文化の授業では、社会関係資本と主観的ウェルビーングとの関係、地域活性化や公共建築(図書館、区役所など）の都市計画、及び地域市民の幸せという非常に素敵なキーワードの下で、関連研究を一緒に読みながら、日本だけでなく、様々な文化圏におけるハピネス（≒生活満足度≒ウェルビーング）について考察します。
研究の理論的枠組みは、主に、社会心理学、教育心理学、社会学、文化人類学などの理論・実践からなっているものでありますが、身体的ウェルビーングを考慮する上で医学は欠かせないと考え、理系の知見も視野に入れる予定です。人間社会の幸福について、人間心理及び社会心理に関する基礎的理解力および応用力を育むことを目的とし、コロナ禍以降、予測不可能な激変を遂げている昨今の情勢を考慮に入れつつ、人間社会の変化について議論できる授業とします。受講生は社会学、社会心理学分野の新たなエーリアともいえるウェルビーング社会学について、様々な分野からのより深いアプローチによる探求に取り組むことになります。
更に、こちらが実施したウェルビーング関連の市民対話・ストーリーテーリング、量的質問紙調査のデータを用い、様々な観点から分析を行い、その結果について考察します。 |

授業の目的 【英語】
Goals of the Course | | We will examine the relationship between social capital and subjective well-being, urban planning for regional revitalization and public architecture (libraries, ward offices, etc.), and happiness of local citizens in various cultures as well as in Japan, reading related studies together under the very nice keywords of "happiness".
The theoretical framework of our course consists mainly of theories and practices from social psychology, educational psychology, sociology, and cultural anthropology, but we also plan to look at findings from the sciences, as we believe that medical science is indispensable in considering physical well-being.
The objective of this seminar is to foster fundamental and practical comprehension of human and social psychology concerning the well-being of human society, and the class will be designed to enable students to discuss changes in human society, taking into account the recent unpredictable and drastic changes that have occurred since the Covid-19 disaster. Students will explore the sociology of wellbeing, a new area of sociology and social psychology, from a variety of perspectives and with a more in-depth approach.
Furthermore, we will examine and analyze the results of wellbeing-related citizen dialogues, storytelling, and quantitative questionnaire surveys conducted by me from various perspectives. |

Course Content / Plan | | (1)授業は演習式で行われます。毎週テーマについて発表を行うメインのPresenterとディスカッサント(Discussant)を1‐2名を決め、研究問題について研究・学習する方式です。

A)映画：ウェルビーング＝幸福について考えさせてくれる映画観覧
B)社会関係資本と幸福との関係に関する社会心理学の研究方法；量的方法論／質的方法論について概観
C)理論：ウェルビーング社会学、ヒューマンコミュニケーション、社会関係資本論などの社会理論について勉強します。
D)実践：コロナ禍以降の社会変動、人間行動の変化を中心とした現状と学問的意義について検討します。 |

履修条件・関連する科目
Course Prerequisites and Related Courses | | (1)本授業は日本語で行います。日本語の関連文献の解読・理解・ディスカッションに参加し、この授業をフール活用するためには上級レベルの日本語学習者であることが望ましいです。
★ The class will be conducted in Japanese. You should be an advanced Japanese learner who is capable of reading, understanding, and participating in academic discussions in class.
(2)授業そのものは日本語ですが、英語で書かれている資料も含まれているので、英語論文や資料の解読・理解する能力が必要です。
(3)当該授業内容である社会関係資本、ハピネス論(幸福論)、ウェルビーングとそれらの社会・文化的相互作用に強い興味を持っている人なら授業を楽しめられます。
(4)様々な異文化から来日している外国人の方々からダイバーシティあふれる意見が聞くことが望ましく、外国人、他地方出身者は特に歓迎します。 |

Your participation grade is based on your demonstrated engagement with the course materials, your classmates, and me.
30% In-Class Participation and Contribution
You are expected to complete the assigned readings before class and come prepared to discuss them. Be ready to answer questions, volunteer opinions, and find textual evidence to support your point.
20% Assignments, attendance & Quiz
We will be using the course blog to discuss both the course readings and contemporary debates over technology and culture. You are responsible for answering at least one of the discussion questions posted each week.
A score of 60 or more is considered acceptable. |
