授業の目的 【日本語】
Goals of the Course(JPN) | | (1)量的質問紙調査方法論について概観し、実際調査票の作成(質問と尺度の作成）、量的分析を用いた論文・報告書の解読方法について学び、検討する。
(2)質的研究方法論について概観し、社会的構築主義、言説分析など一連の質的分析法を通じて、量的分析との相違、研究方法論としての意義・必要性などについて学び、これらを用いた論文・資料を解読・検討することを目的とします。 |

Goals of the Course | | (1) An overview of quantitative questionnaire survey methodology, including the actual creation of questionnaires (questions and scales), and how to analyze articles using quantitative analysis will be studied and discussed.
(2) An overview of qualitative research methodologies, including social constructionism, discourse analysis, and a series of other qualitative analysis methods. |

Objectives of the Course(JPN) | | (1)社会学及び社会情報学の実証研究全般について理解することを到達目標とします。
質問紙調査の実施のための質問項目の作成、分析結果の解読、ご自分の研究はどのような研究方法がふさわしいのか、プレゼンテーションを行います。更に、質的研究方法論についても学ぶことにより、両者間の相違、研究意義などについて検討します。
(2)ご自分の研究目的にふさわしい研究方法論について検討し、報告を行います。
※授業は基本的に演習式で行われます。発表を行うメインのPresenterとディスカッサント(Discussant)を1‐2名を決め、テーマについて研究・学習する方式です。 |

Your participation grade is based on your demonstrated engagement with the course materials, your classmates, and me.
30% In-Class Participation and Contribution
You are expected to complete the assigned readings before class and come prepared to discuss them. Be ready to answer questions, volunteer opinions, and find textual evidence to support your point.
20% Assignments, attendance & Quiz
We will be using the course blog to discuss both the course readings and contemporary debates over technology and culture. You are responsible for answering at least one of the discussion questions posted each week.
A score of 60 or more considered acceptable. |
