Goals of the Course | | | Important subjects in current modern life science have been investigated by using the biochemical and biophysical methods. The aim of this course is to introduce fundamental principals of such methods, and insights into functions of gene products in vivo and in vitro, obtained by these analyses. Lecture will begin with explanation of principals, and will be followed by introducing actual analysis. |

Objectives of the Course | | | Instructor expects the students to acquire the ability to understand the basic idea of protein analysis after the completion of the course. The contents includes mutagenesis, column chromatography, protein binding analysis, mass spectroscopy, protein crystallization, single molecule analysis, and hopefully students can understand the principles of these methods, and how to get the insights using these methods. |

Course Content / Plan | | | Nowadays, many life science researches are conducted by using biochemical and biophysical methods, which has been developed and improved a lot in these days. In this course, first I will introduce basic ideas and principles of such methods, and then show examples how to apply these methods to solve important questions in modern life science. |
