Goals of the Course
This course intends to provide students with an understanding of mixed-methods research, integrating qualitative and quantitative approaches. It covers the foundations of mixed-methods research, research design, data collection, and data analysis of mixed-methods studies. Drawing upon real-world examples and hands-on experience from the field, the course is designed to equip graduate students with the knowledge and skills to conduct robust mixed-methods research in social science with a special focus on educational development.

By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Understand the rationales for using mixed-methods research.
- Design and implement mixed-methods research addressing complex research questions.
- Apply qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis techniques.
- Develop a research proposal incorporating mixed-methods approach.
