Goals of the Course | | | This cource covers the international aspects of development economics for first-learners at graduate level as the sequel course to "Development Economics" in the First semester. The topics to be covered include (1) international trade (theory and evidence) and development strategies in developing countries, (2) foreign direct investment and technological diffusion, (3) international migration, (4) international capital movements, (5) role of foreign aids as well as (6) economic integration or environmental issues. |

Objectives of the Course | | | Following "Development Economics" in te spring term, Students are expected to learn the basic knowledge/understanding of international aspects of development economics so that they can develop their own ideas on economic development using concepts and tools of economics. This cource lecture will emphasize on intuitional understanding of major principles of development economics and empirical research to draw policy implications with a focus on international development issues. |

授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan | | This course covers international aspects of development economics fousing on the impact of the progress of globalization on developing countries. This course emphasizes on empirical research on globalization to serve as evidence based policy making. After the overview of globalization, this cource covers international trade and development strategy, foreign direct investment, international migration, foreign aids etc.

Course Evaluation Method and Criteria | | A term paper/report (70%) and class participation/contribution (30%). Details will be discussed in the class.
Credit is given of C- or C（where applicable）or higher for each graded criterion. |
