授業の目的 【英語】 Goals of the Course | | "Comparative Law II" focuses on the legal system in Asian countries, especially Southeast Asian countries. As the Asian legal system is new for most participants and Asian law study demands a different legal perspective from conventional legal studies, the first part of the course discusses the concept of law across the world and the expansion of western law in the modern age while conflicting indigenous norms that already existed in Asian societies. After the introductory part, this course will mainly discuss constitutional laws in societies of Southeast Asia. In Asian countries, constitutions reflect the national identities and people's notions of how the law should be in the country. |
