Goals of the Course [JPN] | | | 少人数のセミナーの形式で，大学で学び研究するための最も基本的なスキル（コモン・ベーシック）としての読み（文献調査，考察，検討），書き（まとめ，報告書作成），話す（討論，発表）を中心とした多面的な知的トレーニングを行います。さらに「知の探究のプロセス」と「学問の面白さ」を学び，自立的学習能力を身につけることを目的としています。教員の研究分野に応じて多様なテーマが用意されています。 |

Goals of the Course [ENG] | | | This course is conducted in the form of a seminar with small groups. We will provide multifaceted intellectual training focused on reading (literature research, consideration, examination), writing (summary, report writing), and speaking (discussion, presentation) as the most basic skills (common basic) for learning and studying at university. Through this, our goal is to learn the "process of knowledge exploration" and "the fun of learning" and to acquire the independent learning ability. A wide variety of themes are prepared according to the research field of the instructors. |

Objectives of the Course [JPN] | | 1. 西洋の思考パターンについての基礎的な知識を持つことができる。
2. 四カ国の小論文と作文の型の比較を通して、思考法と書く「型」の関係を理解する。
3. 論理的思考の四つのタイプを理解し、目的によって使い分けることができる。
4. 教科書の分担部分のレジュメを作り、討論をリードすることができる。
5. 仮説検証の方法を使ってレポートが書ける。 |

Objectives of the Course [ENG] | | 1.Students can acquire basic knowledge about Western thought patterns.
2.Students can understand the relationship between thinking methods and writing "types" through a comparison of essay and composition styles in four countries.
3.Students can understand the four types of logical thinking and use them appropriately depending on the purpose.
4.Students can write a summary of the assigned section of the textbook and lead a discussion.
5.Students can write a report using the hypothesis testing method. |

Message from the Instructor | | | 論理的に考えることは、学術のみならずビジネスや教育、日常の判断に至るまで幅広い分野でその重要性が指摘されている。世界共通で不変のように語られている論理的思考だが、そもそも論理的であるとはどのようなことなのか、論理、非論理の線引きはどう行われるのか、論理的に思考する方法は本当にひとつなのか。本セミナーでは、『論理的思考とは何か』（2024年刊行 岩波新書）を教科書にして、西洋の基本的な思考パターン（論理学、レトリック、科学、哲学）とともに、今や国際標準の書き方となったアメリカのエッセイと、同じ西洋でもそれとは異なるフランスの小論文（ディセルタシオン）、イランと日本の作文の比較から、文化に紐付けられた論理的思考を四つのタイプ（経済、政治、法技術、社会）に分けてこれらの問いに答えていく。これら四つの思考法を目的別に使い分けることで、日常の思考や判断に役立てたり、異なる目的のプレゼンテーションを効果的に行ったり、また異文化間のコミュニケーションの問題解決を図ったりできるようになって欲しい。ここで思考法のパターンを知ることで、一生使えるスキルを身につけ、背後にある価値観を理解して欲しい。 |
