Goals of the Course [JPN]
少人数のセミナーの形式で，大学で学び研究するための最も基本的なスキル（コモン・ベーシック）としての読み（文献調査，考察，検討），書き（まとめ，報告書作成），話す（討論，発表）を中心とした多面的な知的トレーニングを行います。さらに「知の探究のプロセス」と「学問の面白さ」を学び，自立的学習能力を身につけることを目的としています。教員の研究分野に応じて多様なテーマが用意されています。

Goals of the Course [ENG]
This course is conducted in the form of a seminar with small groups. We will provide multifaceted intellectual training focused on reading (literature research, consideration, examination), writing (summary, report writing), and speaking (discussion, presentation) as the most basic skills (common basic) for learning and studying at university. Through this, our goal is to learn the "process of knowledge exploration" and "the fun of learning" and to acquire the independent learning ability. A wide variety of themes are prepared according to the research field of the instructors.

遺伝子組換えの利用について、世の中には批判的な考えの人がいる一方、農業・食品分野、医薬分野、原材料の製造など、我々の生活の中で遺伝子組換え技術がいろいろなところで使われています。近年は新しい遺伝子改変技術として、ゲノム編集が注目を集めています。本セミナーでは、遺伝子組換えやゲノム編集がどのような技術であるのか、どのようなところで使用されているのか、どのような活用が今後期待されているのかを理解し、そして社会は遺伝子組換えやゲノム編集をどのように扱って行くべきかについて、参加学生が調査・発表し、ディスカッションすることを目標とします。

Objectives of the Course [ENG]
Although many people are critical of the use of gene modification, gene modification technology is used in various fields in our life, such as medical and pharmacological fields, the crop and food industry, and material manufacturing. Recently, a new gene modification technology, genome editing has been developed and attracted people's attention. In this seminar, we will learn about gene modification and genome editing, where they are used and will be used in the future. Then we will discuss how we will use these technologies in our life.

出席、発表、ディスカッションへの意欲的な参加、について評価します。履修取り下げ制度を採用し、４回以上授業を欠席した場合は「W」とします。
