Goals of the Course [JPN] | | | 少人数のセミナーの形式で，大学で学び研究するための最も基本的なスキル（コモン・ベーシック）としての読み（文献調査，考察，検討），書き（まとめ，報告書作成），話す（討論，発表）を中心とした多面的な知的トレーニングを行います。さらに「知の探究のプロセス」と「学問の面白さ」を学び，自立的学習能力を身につけることを目的としています。教員の研究分野に応じて多様なテーマが用意されています。 |

Goals of the Course [ENG] | | | This course is conducted in the form of a seminar with small groups. We will provide multifaceted intellectual training focused on reading (literature research, consideration, examination), writing (summary, report writing), and speaking (discussion, presentation) as the most basic skills (common basic) for learning and studying at university. Through this, our goal is to learn the "process of knowledge exploration" and "the fun of learning" and to acquire the independent learning ability. A wide variety of themes are prepared according to the research field of the instructors. |

Objectives of the Course [JPN] | | | 本コースでは、社会における人工知能（AI）の影響力の増大に関して、個人がどのような影響を受けるかを検討する。具体的には、各生徒の専門分野におけるAIの影響について検討する。コース終了時には、この全般的なテーマにおいて学生が選択されるトピックについて自主的に検討を行い、その結果は口頭発表で効果的に伝えられるように期待される。また、AIが社会に与える影響について、個人的な経験や意見をエッセイにまとめることが期待される。 |

Objectives of the Course [ENG] | | | In this course, the class will examine how individuals will be affected by the growing influence of artificial intelligence (AI) in society. Specifically, the class will examine the influence of AI in each student’s field of study. At the end of the course, students are expected to learn to perform independent research on topics selected by the students based on this general theme and to be able to communicate effectively their findings in an oral presentation. Students are also expected to be able to write an essay on their personal experience or opinion on AI’s influence on society. |

Message from the Instructor | | University life is different from high school. In the university, students are trained to be more independent learners. This course will serve as an introduction of this learning process where students themselves define the problems or issues they want to address, find solutions to these issues by doing their own independent investigation outside the classroom, and communicate their findings orally in a presentation or via written reports. AI is selected as the main theme because there are several issues around this topic worth exploring, considering AI’s growing influence in our day-to-day activities. However, in the end, the main goal of the course is not really about learning AI but learning how to be an independent learner.
大学生活は、高校生活とは異なります。大学では、学生はより自立した学習者になるよう訓練されます。このコースでは、学習プロセスを紹介し、学生自身が問題や課題を設定し、教室以外で自主的に検討して解決策を見出し、検討の結果は口頭発表やレポートでまとめます。 AIを主テーマとした理由は、私たちの日常生活におけるAIの影響力の高まりを考えると、このテーマには探求するに値するいくつかの課題があるためです。しかし、このコースはAIを学ぶというより、自立した学習者になるための方法を学ぶ方が主な目的です。 |
