授業の達成目標 【英語】
Objectives of the Course [ENG] | | The semester will begin with an orientation centered on how to become a more proficient speaker of English. The class curriculum will be based on Impact Issues 1, with each week drawing on a new unit. Each lesson will start by building from warm-up topics and then develop into a main topic. This course will also include two audio recordings per semester for self-analysis and assessment. Most of class time will focus on conversation, although other activities, such as reading and listening activities, will be used to build up to a final conversation. The goal is for students to:
(1) Be able to think deeply, weigh different sides of an issue, and reflect on personal experience
(2) Improve discussion skills through sharing opinions and other conversation strategies
(3) Increase comprehension ability through reading and listening in meaningful focused activities
(4) Be exposed to, and understand, a wide range of speaking styles and varieties of international English
(5) Gain communicative confidence and increase motivation for using English |

Week 7 – Unit 9: A Visit to Grandma - Asking for partners’ opinions, Describing people
Week 8 – Speaking Activity (Units 1 – 9)
Week 9 – Unit 10: Fan Worship - Expressing absolute agreement/disagreement 1, Favorites
Week 10 – Unit 12: Close Your Eyes and See – Showing understanding/sympathizing, Discussing problems & solutions
Week 11 – Unit 14: Get a Job! - Expressing degree of agreement 2, Life goals
Week 12 – Unit 15: To Tell or Not to Tell – Expressing uncertainty, Reasons/excuses
Week 13 – Unit 17: To Have or Have Not - Expressing absolute agreement/disagreement 2
