専門的学習のツールとして外国語の能力を高め，異文化理解を深めて，国際社会に相応しい教養を育むことが目的です。リスニングとスピーキングを主としたコミュニケーションの能力を高め，ディスカッションやプレゼンテーションのための基礎力を養成します。

Goals of the Course [ENG]
This course is intended to improve students’ skills in listening and speaking suitable for academic communication in English. Students will develop basic oral/aural communication skills for academic discussion and presentation.

リスニングとスピーキングを主としたコミュニケーションの能力を高める授業活動を通じて、ディスカッションやプレゼンテーションのための基礎力を身につける。

"Develop the ability to understand spoken English in various contexts, including different accents and speed
Improve spoken fluency through regular practice in both structured and informal settings
Develop skills for participating in and leading discussions on various topics, expressing ideas clearly and coherently
Expand vocabulary relevant to everyday conversations and discussions on diverse subjects
Learn and apply communication strategies to convey ideas, ask for clarification, and engage in meaningful discussions
Acquire and practice effective listening comprehension strategies to understand spoken content more accurately"

成績評価の方法と基準
Course Evaluation Method and Criteria
TOEFL-ITP 30%, e-Learning 20%, Participation 10%, Speaking and listening assignments 10%, Presentation assessments 30% (2x)

履修取下げの際に申し出を必要としない。５回以上欠席をした場合、「Ｗ」とする。

授業を未受講、または評価が「Ｗ」となった場合、次の期の単位補充クラスを受講できない。同じ科目を再履修できるのは次の次の期（1年後）になる。進級・卒業に支障をきたさないよう十分注意すること。「履修の手引き」の英語科目の注意事項を要確認。12月のTOEFL ITP受験が必要。
