Goals of the Course [JPN] | | 専門的学習のツールとして外国語の能力を高め，異文化理解を深めて，国際社会に相応しい教養を育むことが目的です。学会や社会で求められるプレゼンテーションを行えるよう，リーディング・スピーキング・リスニング・ライティングの各能力を高め，また４技能の統合を目指します。

The course aims to help students acquire skills for making effective presentations on various occasions such as academic conferences and business meetings. |

Objectives of the Course [JPN] | | | 自分の考えをその根拠とともにいかに説得力ある論理的な英文に組み立てるかというこれまで英語（基礎）・（中級）で養った知識・技能と、英語（コミュニケーション）で培ったコミュニケーション能力に加え、プレゼンテーションに必要な知識や技能を習得し、学術英語を使いこなす能力を更に発展させる。 |

Objectives of the Course [ENG] | | | Expand students' knowledge of a wide variety of world issues while developing English proficiency in all 4 major areas and research and presentation skills. |

授業の内容や構成
Course Content or Plan | | | The theme of this course is World Issues. Students will read selections from the text covering important topics such as climate change, economic inequality, indigenous cultures, ethics, and media, among others. There will be in-class discussions on these topics to develop vocabulary and practice how to express opinions. The students will then develop a research project based on one of the major topics discussed and create a presentation from it as the cumulative activity for the course. |
