授業の目的 【英語】
Goals of the Course [ENG]
【Standardized across all programs】 This is a lecture on electromagnetism, which is an important basis of classical physics along with mechanics, and is offered to undergraduate students in their first year (excluding students who take Electromagnetism I). In electromagnetism, students learn about the phenomena and laws of electricity and magnetism, which are widely applied from daily life to the development of advanced technology, and learn the process of deducing from these phenomena the systematic laws of electromagnetism by introducing the concept of fields.
授業の達成目標 【英語】
Objectives of the Course [ENG]
Students gain a functional understanding of introductory mechanics and thermal physics. Besides learning to solve problems within each topic, students will also learn to solve problems that cut across these topics. They are able to appreciate the physics underlying their studies in other science and engineering disciplines. They are prepared for the next course in the series: Fundamentals of Physics III.

Course Evaluation Method and Criteria
A withdrawal Request Form is needed for course withdrawal. The “Absent” grade is reserved for students who withdraw just after the final exam. After that day, a letter grade will be awarded based on marks earned from all assessments during the semester. Assessment includes weekly Wiley Plus assignments, an exam on Mechanics (halfway through the course), and an exam on thermodynamics (finals week)
