Goals of the Course [JPN]
私たちの生活はさまざまな人工物に支えられています。これらの人工物はその機能に適した材料からつくられます。その材料を開発することも科学・技術の大事な仕事です。物理学，化学の知識を融合し，新しい材料やデバイスの設計と開発，そして評価をおこなう学問である材料科学の方法と成果を学ぶことが本授業科目の目的です。

Our lives are supported by various man-made objects. These products are made from materials suitable for their function. To develop the material, both are important in science and technology. It is a discipline that combines knowledge of physics and chemistry to design, develop, and evaluate new materials and devices.
The goal of this course is to learn the methods and usage of materials science.

本授業の目標は、これまでの物質やエネルギーに対する人類の関わりを知るとともに、現在、人類が抱える問題を理解し、未来に向かって人類が果たすべき責任について、各個人が考えるきっかけを作ることである。
