Goals of the Course [JPN]
統計学または統計的手法は，社会科学，自然科学などの多くの分野で，様々な形で利用されています。本講義の目的は，母数の推定，統計的仮説検定などの基礎理論を解説することです。統計学の学習には，確率論の初歩理論の理解が欠かせないので，確率分布，大数の法則，中心極限定理など確率論の基礎に関して講義します。さらに母集団と標本，標本分布など統計学の用語を講義し，本題の推測統計学の基礎を解説します。適宜，演習を行います。

Goals of the Course [ENG]
Statistics or statistical methods are used in many fields　of social sciences and natural sciences. The goal of this course is to explain the basic theory of statistics, including parameter estimation and hypothesis testing. In learning statistics, some understanding of probability theory is essential. The course starts with lecturing about the fundamentals of probability theory such as probability distributions, the law of large numbers, and the central limit theorem. Students should learn population, sample, and sample distribution before building up a basic knowledge of statistical inference. Exercises will be provided in case of necessity.
