Goals of the Course(JPN)
近年、生命科学は飛躍的な進歩を遂げ、自然科学にとどまらず私たちの社会に大きな影響を与える一大分野へと発展している。この背景には、生物学と化学や物理学、数学などの融合によるボーダーレスな生命科学分野の広がりがある。そのため、様々な好奇心に溢れる若者たちの参画により、今後も縦横無尽に発展する可能性を秘めている。本講義は高校生物の未履修者と履修者の両方を対象に、理学部・生命理学科で最先端の研究を展開する教員たちが、生命科学の面白さを自身の研究成果を交えつつわかりやすく解説し、皆さんをエキサイティングな生命科学の世界へと導く。

Goals of the Course
In recent years, life science has made significant progress and evolved into a major field with a profound impact on our society, beyond natural sciences. This is enabled by the borderless expansion of the life science field through the fusion of biology with chemistry, physics, mathematics, and other fields. Therefore, it has the potential to continue developing in all directions through the participation of young people with a variety of curiosities. In this lecture, faculty members conducting cutting-edge research in the Department of Biological Science will lead you into the exciting world of life science by explaining the fascinating aspects of life science including their research results in an easy-to-understand manner, targeting both those who have and have not taken a biology course in high school.

The goal of this course is for students to have a basic knowledge of the state-of-the-art in life sciences by the end of the course.
授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan
生命科学分野の多岐にわたる研究について、以下の教員がそれぞれの最先端の研究成果を含めて紹介する。

西村浩平：　生命活動の司令塔、タンパク質。その寿命を操り、生物をコントロールしよう

吉成晃：　　知られざる地下世界：植物の根における栄養獲得戦略

野元美佳：　植物の「毛」に潜む生存戦略

岩波翔也：　数学とデータでウイルス感染と薬の効果を科学する

西川将司：　脳を形づくる “動く” 神経細胞たち

兼子拓也： 魚から学ぶ「脳」と「体」のコミュニケーション

大西真理：　植物タンパク質の形と働きを支える翻訳後修飾

授業に積極的に参加し、内容を正しく理解することが合格の基準である。
成績の評価は、各教員によって課された小テストまたはレポートに基づいて行われる。
不可(F)と欠席(W)の基準
Criteria for "Fail (F)" & "Absent (W)" grades
「履修取り下げ届」が提出された場合は「欠席(W)」とする。それ以外で成績評価が基準に達しない場合は不可(F)とする。
