Goals of the Course
This course offers an introduction to the fundamentals of molecular biophysics, where students will learn how to describe and analyze biological phenomena through the lens of physics. Objectives of the Course
This course will emphasize the crucial role of physics, chemistry, and computer science in understanding and studying biological molecules. Students will explore the physical and chemical principles underlying the behavior and structure of biological macromolecules, such as proteins. In addition, they acquire knowledge of key methods used to study these molecules, including experimental techniques and computational approaches. The course will also introduce students to computer tools for visualizing and analyzing protein structures and dynamics. By the end of the class, students will be equipped with a solid foundation in the interdisciplinary techniques essential for modern biophysical research.
